Service Description: The Bikeways and Trails dataset is a comprehensive network of bike and walkway systems for the City of Albuquerque. Data for this network of bikeways crossings, and trails is gathered from City of Albuquerque data as well as provided information from neighboring entities.
Path Types:
Bike Lane - A portion of the street with a designated lane for bicycles.
Buffered Bike Lane - Conventional bike lanes paired with a designated buffer space to provide separation from motorized traffic.
Separated Bike Lane - A bike lane that is physically separated from motor vehicle traffic with a vertical element (barrier).
Paved Multi-Use Trail - A paved trail closed to automotive traffic and separated from the roadway system.
Paved Sidepath - A paved trail and/or sidewalk closed to motor vehicle traffic and parallel to a roadway.
Bike Blvd. - A shared roadway optimized by bicycle traffic.
Bike Route - Cars and bicycles share the road. Signs and markings may be present.
Unpaved Multi-Use Trail – An unpaved trail closed to automotive traffic.
Hiking Trail - An unpaved trail open to foot traffic only.
Crossing - Bicycle or pedestrian under/over crossings.
Deprecated Types:
NMDOT Facility - A Bicycle facility owned and maintained by NMDOT with different design standards than the City of Albuquerque.
