The STM_StreetConditions dataset is a comprehensive network of the street conditions, maintenance responsibility, maintenance history, and rudimentary project tracker for the road network maintained by the Street Maintenance Division, of the Department of Municipal Development, of the City of Albuquerque.

This data set is maintained at the direction of the Street Maintenance Division Manager, the Principle Engineer, and Project Managers. The dataset is updated en masse approximately every 5 years through the use of a outside contractor who does a full network study and provides the data to use as a new baseline. In the intervening years between surveys, we degrade the condition values once a year (Start of the new fiscal year) based on the last maintenance performed on the road segment. Throughout the year, we increase the condition values as projects are completed. The increases are based upon the type of project performed.

The condition increases at the conclusion of a project always lag behind the completion of a project in the field. This is due to the fact that we update a project at the END of a project, NOT as each portion of a project is complete. With very few exceptions, Street Maintenance projects involve performing maintenance to a variety of locations, all around the city. Various locations will be completed at different times, but the data is not updated until the entire project is complete. This is also subject to delays in final paperwork, financial agreements, and other aspects of projects that are not field-activities.

Per the Division Manager of the Street Maintenance Division, this data is not for public sharing, or even full in-city distribution as-is due to the type of data included. This layer includes project tracking fields, as well as up-coming project tracking. The upcoming-project data causes frustration, calls, and hearings when shared, both in and out of the city. IF those attributes are hidden or otherwise not published, then the data can be shared, but should still be checked with the SMD Division Manager.

|
